Picnic Day at Francisco Park

Donation / Volunteer with Local Nonprofits

Support local nonprofits making a difference in our community by stopping by their tables throughout the event. Learn more about the work they do, make a donation if you are able, or sign up to volunteer and get involved. Whether you give a few dollars, share your time, or simply start a conversation, every act of support helps strengthen the people and organizations working to make our neighborhoods more connected, creative, and cared for.

Creative Writing

For this interactive storytelling space, I invite you to slow down and share a small piece of yourself.

You might write about a memory from the neighborhood, a person who has shaped you, a moment that made you feel connected, or a hope you have for Russian Hill and our community. There is no right way to participate. A sentence, a story, a drawing, a poem, or even a single word is enough.

My hope is that this space helps us remember that every neighbor has a story worth telling, and that when we share them, we begin to know and care for one another a little more deeply.

Morning Stretch

Ease into the day with a gentle community stretch and yoga circle in the middle of the court. Bring a mat or towel and join neighbors for light movement, deep breaths, and a peaceful start to Summer Soulstice surrounded by celestial chalk art, sunshine, and the Curious Soul community.

Clothing Exchange & Donation

Refresh your closet, share what you no longer wear, and help make sure great clothing finds a second life in the neighborhood. Bring clean, gently used pieces to exchange with others, discover something new-to-you, and donate any remaining items to local community organizations. It is a simple, sustainable way to connect with neighbors, reduce waste, and make sure clothing continues to be loved.

Board Games

Settle into the grass with a mix of classic and casual board games, perfect for sparking conversation, friendly competition, and easy connection. Whether you’re joining a game or starting your own, it’s all about shared moments and simple fun.

Out on the lawn, frisbees will be in motion — an open invitation to play, move, and enjoy the space together. Jump in for a quick toss or stay for a while and let the energy carry you.

Watercolor

A gentle space for creative expression. Settle in, pick up a brush, and let color move freely across the page. Whether you paint something intentional or simply follow the moment, this is a place to slow down and create without expectation.

Picnic Day at Francisco Park

Join us for a joyful afternoon in the heart of the city as we gather for Picnic Day at Francisco Park — a free, community-centered celebration designed to help us slow down, connect, and create together.

Set against sweeping views of the Bay, this experience is rooted in movement, creativity, and meaningful connection. Whether you’re coming solo, with friends, or bringing the whole family, there is something here for everyone.

What to expect:

Neighborly fun
Watercolor stations to pause, paint, and express yourself in the sunshine
Arts and crafts for all ages
Lawn games and board games to spark connection and laughter
Open space to relax, picnic, and enjoy the afternoon
Opportunities to learn about and support local nonprofits, youth programs, and small businesses

This is more than a picnic — it is a space to slow down, create, and feel connected. A place where conversations flow easily, creativity is welcomed, and community feels natural.

Bring a blanket, bring a friend, and come as you are.
Let’s gather, paint, play, and make the park feel like home.
